Cinnamon Leaf

$12.00

Botanical Name: Cinnamomum zeylanicum
Part of Plant: Leaf
Cultivation: Ethically wildcrafted
Origin: Madagascar
Extraction Method: Steam distillation
Precautions: Avoid during pregnancy or with children under five. Cinnamon leaf may induce menstruation or childbirth contractions. It is a strong skin irritant. Please dilute to 1%. Avoid use of Cinnamon Leaf if you are on anticoagulant therapy (blood thinners).
Size: 1/3 oz. (10 ml)

Cathy’s Comments: This Cinnamon leaf oil is wild-crafted in Madagascar. The aroma is vibrant and spicy (with hints of clove) but not nearly as sweet as cinnamon bark, nor as tenacious as the bark oil. However, it is safer to use on the body–though it, like all oils, should be well-diluted . Eugenol, the main constituent, is a powerful anti-oxidant, and  known for its anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties, both for oral use and diffused (or in steam) for respiratory issues.  Cinnamon leaf and ginger together are more potent than either alone, and can be used in less quantity for an analgesic effect. It is a warming strengthening oil, helpful for mustering courage.
